Building a cosmic ray detector
The basics required for a cosmic ray (muon) detector are:
- At least two detectors which can measure ionizing radiation.
- A jig to hold detectors one above the other.
- Some non-ferrous shielding to go between the detectors.
- Electronics to monitor coincidence between the two or more detectors.
- Electronics to monitor and/or display when a coincidence has occurred between the two or more detectors.
